Our township of Bohai is filled with country roads and agricultural trails that lead to hidden delights the car-bound tourist will never see. Biking Bohai, available for purchase at the Brickyard, contains 12 bicycle rides from easy to quite challenging, including an 80 kilometer ride to or from the Ming Tombs. This book was trailblazed and written by 2009 Schoolhouse intern Audrey Gueho. |

Mutianyu is a spectacular and yet accessible stretch of the Great Wall constructed during the Ming Dynasty. Just 10 minutes by car from the Brickyard. Mutianyu: Off the (Great) Wall is an excellent source to learn more about this section of the Wall and the small village at its foot. Political scientist Erin Williams spent five weeks at The Schoolhouse in 2006 to research and write this illustrated book at the Brickyard. |
